A long standing producer among the wineries lining the N-122 road between Sardon and Penafiel in what has become to be known as Ribera’s “golden mile”
Established in 1986 & manages 2,000,000 kilograms of grapes every harvest
The Spanish Master of Wine, Almudena Alberca (winemaker), favours early harvests to avoid overripe grapes, low pH levels & preserving the wines’ aromas.
At Vina Mayor, the goal from the very beginning was to produce red wines with ageing, value for money and good availability in national & international markets
We are proud to be the first winery in Ribera del Duero to received the Winery for Climate Protection certification.
Crianza
12 months ageing in French oak barrels followed by another 12 months in bottle before release
Grapes are hand picked in different areas of the D.O Ribera del Duero
