The Classic Chardonnay has a moderate lemon appearance. On the nose, there is attractive lemon peel, red apple and peach fruit with a hint of new oak (a touch of vanilla and toast). On the palate, the Chardonnay is medium-bodied with some lifting acidity and fairly well-integrated. There is a pleasant core of varietally correct fruit with some of that stone fruit character more typical of this slightly warmer part of Shandong that fits nicely with the hint of new oak. There is also a touch of lees influence. With its moderate length, this wine is drinking well now. However, it is a pleasant, modern Chinese Chardonnay.
