Walnut Tree Winery

In 2017, "ZAXEE" aka Zaxi was born. The winemaker adheres to a simple philosophy: let the grapes be grapes, and let the wine be wine. In Tibetan, "Za" signifies beauty and fulfilment, while "Xi” represents wishes and dreams. "Zaxee” thus means "beautiful hope and auspicious blessings."

We hope that through a glass of wine born from the Tibetan terroir, we can bring the natural energy of the pure highland to everyone in the world, sharing the bounty and blessings of heaven and earth.

The winery is named after a 500-year-old walnut tree at its entrance.

It is located at Hachong Village, Benzilan Town, Deqin County. The winery is a Tibetan-style residence, entirely constructed of earth and wood, with blue-tiled rammed walls. A 10-minute walk east from the winery will take you to the vineyards. The vineyards are spread across steep slopes, making mechanisation impossible and requiring all work to be done manually.

Currently, Walnut Tree Winery produces only 30,000 bottles annually. From vineyard management to the final steps of wax sealing and labelling, everything is independently completed by the five members of the winery.
